Angie graduated from the University of Toronto in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She has worked at Grand River Hospital Freeport Site since graduating. Angie worked on a variety of inpatient units and has spent the last 25 years working in the Outpatient Neuro Rehabilitation Clinic (NRC) and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinic treating individuals who suffer from stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, other neurological diagnoses and all lung diseases.

 

Angie completed the Certificate Course in Neurodevelopmental Treatment approach (NDT) in 2003 and has completed many Intermediate NDT courses on Upper Extremity function, ADL function, Functional Problem Solving, Standing & Gait.

 

She has also completed numerous courses on Cognition and Visual Perception, such as the Assessment & Treatment of Cognition by Debby McQuillen, Mary Warren’s Evaluation & Treatment of Visual Perceptual Dysfunction Part I & II, VisAbilities Evaluation & Intervention for Visual Processing deficits in Adults following Stroke & TBI, and Cognition/Perception by Dr. J. Toglia. Angie is also an authorizer for the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) through the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care for mobility aides and wheelchairs.

 

After 32 years, Angie just recently retired from full time work at GRH but remains employed there as casual OT. Angie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
